Spring 2023

December feels like so long ago at this point.   I evidently didn't take a lot of pictures around Christmas this year...

I did get a new vehicle!  Finally found one right before Christmas.

Rachel is starting to drive.  She is old enough (now) to have her license, but she hasn't finished all of her stuff yet, so she still has her permit.

Christmas Eve service.

These are out of order, but here are some of the professional family pictures we had taken over Thanksgiving.

Jackson and Dax at Adventure Air.

Dinner for Nannette's birthday.

Jackson played soccer again this spring.  We had a few COLD days...

Michael had a weekend trip out to LA and was able to visit with Jeffrey, Constance and their kids for a day or two.

Jackson sold camp cards again this year.  He worked really hard and spent a lot of weekend mornings outside of local Waffle Houses (there was a WaHo deal on the card!) selling the cards.  He was raising money to go to summer camp this year and trying to get more for next year as well (summer camp and an additional BIG trip coming next year...).  He did so good that he tied for 10th place in sales within our whole region.  So he was invited to the celebration for the top ten sellers.

This is the sleeping net he got with his gift certificate.  It will keep the bugs off of him at camp.

Rachel's band had two big concerts they went to this semester.  One was something all bands and orchestras have to perform at, but the other, was Music for All - they were invited to participate in this down at Georgia State University.  It was a big deal and a LOT of practicing.

Her percussion section.

Her end of year banquet.

Easter morning.

One of Rachel's friends, Izzy, plays roller hockey so we went to watch her game one morning.  That was fun.  It made Jackson want to play....

Jackson has discovered a bike park close by...

Mother's Day dinner at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants.

Jackson went on a fun kayaking trip with the scouts and also placed American flags at a local National cemetery for Memorial Day.

The aquarium and a fancy ice cream place that the kids went to with Barbara and Dawson. Yum!

And Rachel turned 16 last month!!!  Sixteen years old!  Whew.  She had band all day on her actual birthday, but we did go out another day.  She wanted to go to a Braves game with a few friends to celebrate but wanted to wait until school was out.  So we went a couple of weeks ago.  There was only a 20% chance of rain that day so we thought we would be fine.  NOT!!  We got there early so they could have time to walk around and while we were out waiting on the gates to open, we got stuck in a downpour for like 20 minutes.  We were absolutely drenched with no where to go.  Rachel and I were still wet when we got home that night.  And then there was weather in the area so they delayed the game by an hour and 40 minutes... So, it was a VERY late night, but we had fun.  (Despite me being sick...I've been sick for the last three weeks.)

Now we  have swim team going on (it's almost over)...Jackson is living his best life this summer with his group of friends.  Summer always goes by so fast...
