Snowy, Snowy Day

We did get out and play in the snow for a little bit yesterday morning. Rachel enjoyed it - Jackson wasn't too sure about it.

Jackson's first snow.

All she wanted to do was eat the snow.

Jackson's first time tasting snow.

This was Rachel's first time snow and her first time eating it...she was 8 months old at the time.

Three years later... Enjoying some hot chocolate after playing in the cold...

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Let me start out by saying this is the first white Christmas that I can remember experiencing. It started snowing this afternoon and lasted until about 9:00 tonight...we came home to about an inch of snow on the ground at our house. Hopefully we'll be able to go out and play in it a little bit tomorrow... It will be Jackson's first snow!

Merry Christmas to you! We had a nice Christmas. Last night the kids opened their new Christmas pajamas.

Rachel was very excited before going to bed but this morning she didn't wake up until 8:30...and then she was very shy and not that interested in what he left for her... She would have rather sat and played with Jackson's new toys, but eventually got into her stuff.

She does like her new scooter!

After it took what seemed like three hours to pack everything and get out the door (is it just us or does it take everyone forever to get out when you have little ones??), we went over to Michael's parents for the afternoon. We were off to a rocky start b/c we accidentally left Rachel's Pooh Bear at home - and for those of you that know her, that is not a good thing. Thank goodness Grandmama had a new little Pooh there at her house that was a good substitution for the day. (Oh, and we found Pooh hiding in the pantry tonight when we got home...)

No such luck on being well this month. It's one thing after another with us these last two months. I had to take Jackson to the pediatrician Friday morning b/c his cough was so bad and he was wheezing...so we get to do a breathing treatment with a nebulizer every few hours on him this weekend...and go back on Monday morning. This is him with the little dinosaur mask on...

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

Week of Christmas - part two

This week was the first chance we have had to take some pictures of the kids in front of our Christmas tree. I'm sure there will be more taken this weekend on Christmas, so hopefully those will be posted soon. Merry Christmas everyone!

His Santa hat is too small now!

She really does love her little brother...

Week of Christmas - part one

We had Christmas with Michael's family last week so that Jeffrey and Constance could be with us. What a fun time we had!

Rachel got the mirror she'd been asking for...

All of us with cute headpieces...

Play time on Jackson's new playmat...

Our Weekend and Visit with Santa

Remember when I said that I hoped we would all be well in December??? Well, we're definitely not starting out well. Jackson had a cold which developed into pink eye and his cold turned horrible last weekend...that wasn't any fun at all... But he is finally doing better now. I thought my cold had finally almost ended but now my throat is killing me and I've been feverish for three days now...And yesterday Rachel started running a fever as well... Nothing else seems to be bothering her though and she's not letting it keep her down. We're just keeping Tylenol in business these days...

Since Jackson was sick last weekend, we couldn't go see Santa then as we had planned, so we went last night - in the cold and much longer line. Santa and Mrs. Claus live close by our house so it's so much easier than going to the mall. You get to walk through their house and then outside to see all of their Christmas decorations. Santa sits in the back of his workshop and everyone waits in line to see him.

Last year Rachel did fine up until we were close to Santa and then she freaked out... This year, Rachel started freaking out as soon as we got to Santa's house... "I don't want to see Santa, I don't want to sit on Santa's lap, etc." So thirty minutes later when we got up to see him, I expected the worst. Jackson sat on Santa's lap without hesitation - he was fine with it. I'm having to hold Rachel and we go stand beside the big guy in red...He starts to talk to Rachel and she immediately starts talking to him openly. Luckily her candy cane fell to the ground so she got down and I backed away. She stood beside him and talk to him the whole time - but she never would sit on his lap. But she didn't freak out so I'm okay with that. =) It was a fun night anyways.

Waiting in line all bundled up.

Jackson's first time with Santa! He's a champ!

How we started...

Getting closer...

"And I want a computer and a mirror..."
