July

The summer continues to fly by.  Jackson got to be in the Woodstock 4th of July parade with his Cub Scout Pack. There weren't many of them this time so they all got to ride in the float.  He enjoyed it but it was a really hot day!

Here they come!

And we went to watch the fireworks that night.  Rachel stayed over at a friend's house instead of coming with us.

Michael had his birthday dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse and Grandpa was down for that weekend and went with us.

Rachel made chicken enchiladas for us for dinner one night.  They turned out pretty good!

And Jackson's 9th birthday was this week.  Michael took him out for a special sushi lunch and he loved all of it!

Opening presents at home on his birthday morning.  He loves the group Dude Perfect and they are coming to Atlanta for a live tour this next week so we got him tickets to go see that for his birthday.  Should be fun!

And we went to Jumping World that afternoon for his party with a few of his friends.

And of course Mexican for his birthday dinner.

Michael was going to change his shirt to go to dinner and Jackson came down with the same one and wanted them to be twins.  So, here they are!

Jackson in his new Nerf vest and gun protecting our house.  He was so cute with his new haircut and everything.

Now that July is about over, school starts next week!  They meet their new teachers on Tuesday and Wednesday and the first day is Thursday.  Michael will head back to work then as well.

Sloths and More Swimming

This year for Rachel's birthday, Barbara and Dawson gifted Rachel with a "Sloth Experience" at the North Georgia Zoo.  They went on Friday and Rachel got to hang with two sloths for 30-45 minutes!  She got to feed them, pet them and learn more about them - up close and personal.  She said it was amazing!!!

And they also got to see, pet and feed other animals at the zoo as well.

Saturday, Jackson competed in the county qualifying swim meet for the state.  He swam in 3 individual events and 2 relays and made it to the finals in both backstroke and breaststroke.  He finished 13th overall in breaststroke and 9th overall in backstroke.  They only took the top 3 of each for State, but still - he did a great job.  Rachel chose not to compete at this event this year - it's not required.  It was a long hot day so we were fine not going back the next day for her to swim...

I know I said this last time, but swim team is officially over now.  Rachel will probably start back with the year-round swim in August.  I think we are changing teams for her this year.  We have one month until school starts back.  The 4th of July is this week and Michael's and Jackson's birthdays are both coming up!
