Beach for Fall Break

We changed up our vacation plans this year and went to the beach during their Fall Break instead of over the summer.  It was less crowded at the beach and gave the kids something to look forward to and something fun and different to do over the break.

We went to Panama City Beach in Florida and the water was absolutely gorgeous.  I could stare at it forever.

Their first morning walking out to the water - still in their clothes, it was early!

You know he can't help but to get wet.

View from our balcony.

Finally in the water!

The water was so clear we could see all of these little fish swimming around in the water by our feet every day.  They kept bumping into us.  I wish I had my camera out there to get a picture of them.

Just chillin'.

Dad should have gotten in on this one!

At Goofy Golf after dinner.

This statue was huge and they climbed to the top of it to look out.

Jackson loved to search for crabs at night on the sand.

My reading material.

We had a nice pool as well.

We won't talk about how much this drink cost...

Watching the sunset at dinner.

The kids were over the sun by the last day so they got cheap hats to wear outside.  And Jackson wasn't in a picture taking mood...

Worn out...

Love this picture!!

Last night after dinner, watching the sunset again.

And our last morning about to leave...a couple of pictures on our balcony.

Overall, it was a good trip.  Short though.

Past Couple Months

The past couple of months have been busy.  Cheerleading takes a lot of time - there will be another post on that.  The kids have adjusted to being back in school.  Rachel continues to like it overall, but Jackson would rather not be there if he didn't have to.  But he has to!  Here are some things we've done over the past couple of months.

Michael and I saw a concert at the new amphitheater in Woodstock.

Jeffrey, Constance, Chloe & Mathieu visited us from LA!  The kids were so happy to spend some time with their cousins and really hated for them to leave.

Fun at the pool.

And we celebrated Barbara and Dawson's birthday that day!

Fun with cupcakes!

Michael checked the kids out of school early to watch the solar eclipse.  We were just outside of the totality zone, so it didn't get completely dark, but they still enjoyed it.

Basically the only ones at this field.

I watched it from work on the roof of our building with my friend, Kim.

I finally went back and painted again.  This is another one with coffee mugs to go in the kitchen.

Barbara and Dawson kept the kids for a couple of days at the end of Fall Break last week.  They took Jackson rock climbing - which he absolutely loves.

And they took the kids to a museum the other day.

Everything here is made out of one large chunk of steel.  It does look pretty cool.

And we had this made at Riverfest, an outside arts and crafts festival in the area this weekend.
