Fall Break

Last week was fall break for the kids.  We went up to NC for a couple of days at the end of the weekend.  The first day we hung with Nana - went to a park, played on the playground, had a picnic and drove around and looked at the lake.

Nana shared with us a funny talking app and the kids LOVED hearing it.  We all did - so funny.  Got some great laughs that afternoon!

The second day we went to the Lazy 5 Ranch with Grandpa.  The kids loved seeing all of the animals.  Jackson loved feeding them more than Rachel did.  Everyone had a great time!

We took the wagon ride through the ranch and got up close and personal with the animals.

We were told the zebras can be rather aggressive so we weren't allowed to feed them.  Here's one trying to get some food off of our wagon anyways.

The giraffes were one of their favorites.

Here's Rachel's reaction after feeding this character.

This was another of their favorites... A pig giving another pig a "piggy back ride"... it was hilarious.  We sat there for a few minutes with this happening in front of us and all the kids on there were laughing at the piggy-back ride... ha!

It was a good weekend!

All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth...

That song could be Jackson's theme song right now.  For a while now, all four of Jackson's top front teeth have been a little loose but recently his middle teeth got a lot looser.  And all of a sudden last week they got REALLY loose.  And not only were they loose, they looked crazy.  One was pushed way out front and the other was crooked.  So he comes in Saturday morning and says one of them was about ready to come out.  A minute later, he's pulled the front one out.

You can see the other one is a little crooked.

Like I said, the other one was really loose as well so he thought it should come out right away too.  He tried his hardest but it wasn't coming.  One little part in the front was stuck.  He even went so far as to try and dig in there with his finger to break it apart... We ended that really quickly.  I told him he could wiggle it with his tongue but nothing else for the time being.  Oh the drama this day had because of this tooth...

We go into Sunday and he's still working on it.  Finally later that afternoon, he comes in and says he thinks it's really ready now.  He tried, I tried, nothing...but it was just barely hanging on. It would even go completely sideways!  I told him he had to just twist/pull it and get it.  And sure enough, I heard it pop.  It was out.

So now he has a big gap in his front teeth and doesn't say his s's very good either... He looks so different but was very excited to have them both out!

Also, this was from Friday night, but I thought it was cute.

Cheer...Cheer!

Rachel is loving being a Jr. Knights cheerleader this year.  This is her first time cheering for this group - and it's for football, not basketball.  She's on the 5th grade squad because they had to combine the 4th and 5th graders this  year.  There are a handful of 4th graders mixed in.  They practice twice a week and have games on Saturdays.

Practicing their jumps...

One night they went to the high school and got to watch the big football players come in and they were introduced to everyone.  This is the group that went that night.

Group picture with the football team.

Ready for the Jamboree.  They had an intro day before the season started - mini-games all day long.

The first actual game in uniform!

Cheering for the guys after the game was over.

The following pictures were taken from an actual photographer during that game.

Rachel is one of the bases during the stunting.  She's on the bottom right.

She was chosen as one of the captains during the 2nd game.  They rotate from week to week. She really enjoyed being able to call the cheers and "remind" the other girls to stand correctly...ha!

Last Saturday, they were invited to cheer with the 8th grade girls at the 8th grade game...that was pretty neat and the girls loved it!

And of course, Jackson has his buddies/little brothers there as well.
