First Part of 2021

It's now March...wow.   Let's start with New Year's Eve.  We stayed home and watched TV.  I have to admit, it was pretty boring.  I was ready to go to bed much earlier, but we made it to midnight.

New Year's Day was cold and rainy if I remember correctly... I know it was raining because Michael had to rig up the big umbrella to cover the smoker so we could do the pork.  And of course the yummy black-eyed peas that he makes.

I saw some really gorgeous sunrises on my way to work... So pretty!!!

In January, Jackson's Cub Scout pack had their Pinewood Derby car race.  He made his car look like an opened pack of Juicy Fruit chewing gum... And he won for the fastest car!

Rachel even made a car to participate this year.

Rachel straightened my hair one day.  She got it way straighter than I ever can.

Comparing all of their school pictures from over the years...So cute!

And lots of pictures of Lucy.

Unfortunately, a house behind us caught on fire a couple of weeks ago.  Jackson was outside playing with his friend and they saw it start so he and Michael were one of the first ones on the scene.  The lady did make it out but her dogs didn't... So sad.

About a month ago, my Grandma Perkins passed away, she was almost 94 years old.  While it's always a sad thing here for us, we know that she's happy and healthy again in heaven with Grandpa.  We're thankful to have had her and my other grandparents for as long as we have (and still do for one!).

And just last week, Jackson crossed over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.  We've found a new troop for him to join close by and it sounds like they are pretty active.  We'll see how that goes!

Covid vaccines have started going out so we're all hoping that things will get back to more-like-normal here soon... We're rounding out the school year now. This will be a big one for us as Jackson finishes elementary school and Rachel finishes up with middle school!  Time is flying!
