Family Fun

We took a trip up to NC this weekend to spend some time with my side of the family - it's been quite a while since we've been there and seen everyone.

We spent Saturday at Nana's place.

Jackson looks to be listening intently to what she's saying...

We spent Sunday with Grandpa and the others.  We went over to the US National White Water Center and walked around for a little bit.  It was so windy and chilly outside though - much more than we had anticipated.  We watched some of the Olympic qualifying for the kayakers.

They climbed on some rocks.

The kids were able to go through a small obstacle course - they enjoyed most of it.

Then we went and had lunch with the rest of the family.  I got several pictures of the kids (the cousins) but not many of the rest of the family - which I was supposed to do this time...

Rachel loved playing with their dogs...She really wants a dog so being able to walk theirs (more like the dog walked her!) was fun for her.

We had a nice trip.  It was good to be able to see everyone - wish it could happen more often!

Finally Some Nicer Weather

I think we're finally past the worst part of this winter.  I really hope so anyways.  We have had some really nice days lately and I know it won't stay like that but we've enjoyed them while we could.

I'm a little behind on my blogging so I'm having to go back a few weeks.  During the middle of February, we went to the circus in Atlanta.  Michael had taken Rachel once a few years ago so this was her 2nd time and Jackson's first time being there.  They enjoyed it - but wow - was it long!  They could have shortened it by an hour or so and been fine.

Here are a few pictures of us down on the floor before it started.

Jackson walking the tight rope.

Sitting with a clown with big feet... size 18 and a half to be exact!

And we're ready to watch.  We had really good seats.

The orange spinney thing that Jackson is holding was the toy he picked out...and thankfully it kept him still during the second half of the show when he was ready for it to be finished.

Next, we move on to the week Rachel had off during February...no, this wasn't from the weather, she had another whole week off - planned...mid-winter break.  She did something different during this break and went and spent a few days with her Grandmama and Granddaddy at their house.  She's been wanting to learn how to sew (and I sure don't know how to teach her!) so that's what they did most of the time.

They (together) made an apron for both Rachel and her doll...

And Rachel made a pillow case for her pillow.  She loves it!

Many of you know I've gotten in to doing the painting classes...I did another one a couple of weeks ago and this was my peacock.

Random picture of Jackson at the doctor's office one morning (he woke up early with his throat hurting and I wanted to have him checked)... He's tiny and those pants made him look so skinny so I took his picture...

Playing on the Marietta square one Saturday when we went to visit Michael since he had to work.  They love getting up on that train.

And this past weekend, we went down to the river for a walk and played on the playground.  This was something different for us and they liked seeing the water.

Rachel took this picture of us.

Standing under the big bridge.

And Jackson climbing up the big play thing... He has no fear.
