So this year, instead of exchanging gifts for the adults at Christmas, we decided to take a weekend trip to the mountains instead. We went to the North Georgia mountains this past weekend with Michael's side of the family. We had a nice, big cabin and lots of time to hang out and play.
We arrived Friday afternoon and it was a little crazy to begin with...that didn't stop Rachel and Chloe (and Jackson but he didn't want in the picture) from enjoying some hot chocolate.
We woke up Saturday morning to snow falling. It snowed for a couple of hours but didn't really stick - except to make the deck icy...and we didn't have to go anywhere so it was fine. It did stay extremely cold outside for the rest of the day though.
Group shot of me with the kids.
Rachel and Jackson getting to hold Mathieu for the first time. He's so big but so cute! We all loved getting to hold him and know him better since we really haven't seen him that much since he's been born.
There was a hot tub on the deck that the kids couldn't wait to get in. The deck was icy and the outside temp was maybe 40 degrees, but they enjoyed it for the short time we let them.
Jackson and Chloe loved playing with each other. Here they are sharing some popcorn.
All bundled up and playing on the deck.
He's trying to hit the wind chimes...
We took the opportunity to get some family pictures while we were all together.
Playing outside on Sunday. There was a horse barn and field in front of our cabin. It made for a good place to run and climb.
Rachel and Aunt Net looking around.
This was the outside of the cabin.
Overall, it was a fun time. The kids didn't want to go home.
