What a crazy last few weeks of December it was for us. The Father-Daughter dance at school was postponed a week because of all the snow we got. The theme this year was Boots & Bling so Michael chose to go the boots route this year. This was Rachel's last Father-Daughter dance in elementary school and they had a really good time!
Jackson did start playing basketball this past month and I forgot to take a picture from his first game (then the second was cancelled b/c of the snow) so this is before the 3rd game. Also, we have a brand new Krispy Kreme just down the street from us, so we stopped by there on our way to his game that morning. Oh the crowds that place has already seen!!
Thankfully I got some Christmas pictures at church one day before Christmas...I didn't get many afterwards!
And most of you know that Jackson had to have his tonsils out on December 20th. He missed the last two days of school for the semester but he will be good to go back when everyone else does next Monday. Here he is waiting before the surgery...
The first day fooled us. He did so good that day - up eating, playing Legos, etc...He was handling it like a champ.
And then day two hit and everything went downhill for the next 10 days. One thing after another happened. Day five began the bad throat pain. So, it wasn't his best Christmas or break, but he's finally on the mend now. He did sleep a lot...
This was Christmas Eve - we managed to get him out for just over an hour to go to the service at church. He was okay for a little bit...
We said goodbye to Harold, our elf, on Christmas Eve.
And Christmas morning...he finally got a skateboard!
And Rachel loves sloths these days...
We even found sloth wrapping paper!
More sleeping...he would just go lay back down late morning and sleep for a couple of hours...sometimes in the afternoons.
Our family had planned to go to Charlotte to be with the rest of my family for a couple of days close to New Years. We decided that with as rough as Jackson was still feeling, it was best that he didn't come. It was a hard decision b/c I know he wanted to go so bad... He was pretty sad about it but overall he did good. This was the face I said goodbye to before we left (and before he got upset...).
Lunch with Nana.
Having fun with the cousins!
Nana and her grandkids - minus Jackson...Rachel is holding up a picture of Jackson on my phone - but I know it's hard to see.
We went to see Grandma Perkins Saturday morning.
And spent Saturday afternoon with the Davidson side of the family.
Only missing a handful in this picture.
We got home for New Year's Eve and Jackson is finally doing a good bit better. He's not hurting as much, eating and drinking a little better now and acting more like his old self. Thank goodness!! What a rough and wild ride that was. We didn't do anything for NYE except stay in and watch a movie...but the kids did make it to midnight this year.
May 2018 be a much healthier year for everyone (our household included!)!
