'Tis the Season!

It's Christmas time!  I can't believe we're a week away from Christmas already.  This month always goes by so fast.

We had to visit a different Santa this year - and boy is that a hard thing to do when you've gone to an "easy" Santa for the last 5-6 years.  But we found one and it turned out fine.

Christmas pictures in the Marietta Square.

Michael and Rachel went to the Father-Daughter Dance at school last weekend.  Rachel was so excited for this and they really did dance a lot that night!  Her favorite part was being dipped by Michael.

Being silly...

The cheerleader in her is never far away...

Here she is at the dance with a few of her friends.

And today was Jackson's class Grinch party... one of the mom's sent me this picture of Jackson and his buddies.  So cute!

Also, this isn't Christmas related, but Jackson finally got a big kid bed this month.  He was excited at the idea of getting a big bed, but when it came down to sleeping in it, he was less than thrilled for the first few nights.  His first night wasn't the best and the second night, he fell out of bed while asleep and that definitely didn't help matters.  We have a towel rolled up under the sheet toward the side of it for now and that seems to have helped.  He hasn't had any more issues and is doing much better with it!

Thanksgiving and A Little More

We had a nice Thanksgiving last week... Got up, ate sausage balls, watched the parade, and spent the day with family.

Fun outside with cousins!

Little man is walking now!

The kids table at dinner.  I think this is the first time we've had a separate kids table.  They liked it.

After dinner we roasted marshmallows by the fire.

That weekend we decorated the house for Christmas... we are slowly getting more decorations for outside.  I haven't taken any pictures yet but hope to soon.

Saturday night, Michael and I went to the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.  They were performing music by John Williams and Michael loves all of his music.  I got him tickets for his birthday back in July and the event night was finally here.  He wrote all the Star Wars music and there were people dressed as a bunch of the Star Wars characters there.  Pretty funny.

I loved looking at this tree outside - it was so different and bright yellow!

And Rachel has been in Guitar Club this semester - once a week for an hour after school.  This past Tuesday they had their first performance.  She is enjoying it so far.

And their school had Donuts for Dad this past week.  Someone was super excited.

The Last Couple Weeks

Jackson's last baseball game was last Saturday.  He got a hit his last time up at bat.  Here he is with his trophy - he wasn't too excited about taking a picture at this point. He'd also had a cold all week and his nose was still a little red...

We headed from that game to their school's fall festival.  Rachel was cheering for the first time this season.  She looks so grown up here!

Jackson and friends.

They had a rock wall and a bungee/trampoline thing - of course Jackson loved those.

He climbed all the way to the top of the rock wall!  It was hard work but he did it!

They also had their Thanksgiving lunches this week.  I went to Jackson's and then his class had a little performance.  He was so quiet that whole time.  Michael went to Rachel's lunch the next day.

Last night, I met Michael to pick up Jackson and take him home during Rachel's practice.  I pulled in the parking lot and he's standing in the sun roof of Michael's car...

Halloween Fun

Here we are at the neighborhood "Pumpkins in the Park" a couple of weeks ago dressed as the Peanuts gang... That was cute.

This was Rachel and a few of her friends.

Rachel and Jackson - or Snoopy and Charlie Brown.

Rachel had the best costume this year for Halloween.  However, it made taking pictures with both kids hard because she needed to be in the dark and he needed some light.  Rachel was a glow stick - stick figure.  Jackson went as a fireman.

This was her walking away from me.

Rachel with a few friends on Trick or Treat Street.

Jackson and a buddy.

More friends!

It was so funny watching her walk down the street.  Everyone loved it.

She got tired...

And going to bed... what a night!
