March...So Far

Both kids are playing soccer through our school league this year.  Rachel played last year and this is Jackson's first time in this league.  He didn't like playing 2 years ago and didn't want to do it last year with school...but I'm so glad he tried it this time.    Jackson is on a K-1 team and Rachel is on the 4th/5th grade team - much more competitive this year!  Makes for busy Saturdays right now but it's fun!

Ready for their first game!

With some of our neighborhood friends after their games.

Our church has a service once a year where they give a new Bible to the First Graders.  Here is Jackson before the service and getting his Bible.

Rachel's friend, Haley, came with us to hang with her.

Afterwards during the reception...

And Jackson with Pastor Johnny.

Ready for St. Patrick's Day...

And this was Rachel's cereal box project that she worked really hard on...Fourth grade has been a lot of work so far...

February Break

The kids were out of school last week for their February/Winter Break.  They spent a few days with Barbara and Dawson and even got to to the circus with them!  This was the last time to ever see the circus and they really enjoyed it.

Honk!

Breakfast at their favorite spot.

Our little climber.

Thursday we went up to Charlotte for a couple of days.  We met Grandpa for dinner on our way in.

Out for a walk with Nana and Jim.

The weather was gorgeous the whole time we were there - temps in the mid 70's.  You'd never know it was February!

Went to visit my Grandma Perkins - she turns 90 next week!

Saturday we hung out with Grandpa - saw the water at Latta Plantation.  It was so windy out there!

Grandma and Grandpa Davidson came with us and we got some pictures with them too.

Four generations here.

This is our last week of basketball for Jackson.  And both of them have their first soccer game this Saturday.  We're making the transition from basketball to soccer.  Soccer pictures to come soon, I'm sure.

Catching Up and Basketball

This last month has been pretty busy.  Jackson has enjoyed playing basketball for the first time.  We were a little nervous as to how it would go as he hasn't "thrived" with a team sport before... he was so nervous the week before the first game.  But that first game came and he went out there and played like a champ!  He even scored three baskets that day!  I was so proud of him!!!  They've had about five games so far.  Won some and lost some.  The teams aren't all on an equal playing field so each week is a little different.  But he's gotten a few more baskets throughout.  We've got two more games and then the season is over.

Michael is one of his coaches!

Jackson dressed as a 100 year old man for the 100th day of school...

This was some of the kids in his class...

Jackson and I on our way to the Mother-Son Night at school.

Trying a new climbing place...they also had mini-golf and a lazer maze but I didn't get pictures of those.

This stair step climb was huge - similar to something done on American Ninja Warrior.  Jackson tried it to begin with and struggled and stopped half-way through.  Eventually he went back and tried again - making it all the way to the top.  It was so high!

Ready for a bike ride last weekend.  I walked - they left me.

This was from a couple of weeks ago...Jackson was one of a few kids in his class on the "A-Train" and they got to walk through the school doing something...they went to Rachel's class and all of her friends wanted to be in the picture with them...well, the girls anyways.

Yesterday was Valentine's Day and I forgot to take any pictures at home... But Jackson wanted to take his teacher flowers and he did so.

And with a mouth full of marshmallows.

This was last month but Jackson got his picture taken with the school superintendent one day.  The school district posted it on their Facebook and Twitter pages, on their district-wide email and we saw last week that it was printed in the Cherokee County paper!  He was famous!

This morning was Donuts for Dad so they got to enjoy a treat together at the start of the day.

Soccer practice started this week.  Rachel and Jackson are both playing this time - Jackson didn't want to play last year so we'll see how it goes this time.
