Weekend with Grandpa...And Still a Climber.

Grandpa came down and stayed with us last weekend was Michael was away working the Three Day Walk for Breast Cancer. Rachel and Jackson really enjoyed spending so much time with him!

He discovered his rocking horse in his room the other night...

Look what I can do! I can climb up on the stool and see into the sink! (If only I could get my hands on all those dishes...)

Sunday Photos

Sunday morning was very chilly and Rachel got to wear her new dressy coat to church for the first time...of course we had to take a picture! She looks so pretty in it!

And after church it was a tad warmer so the coat came off...and we got smiles from both kids!

Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween!

This year Rachel was Dumbo and Jackson was Charlie Brown. Of course Charlie Brown was too interested in the big and little pumpkins to look at the camera or smile...

That looks like a good place for the football...

Dumbo was pretty excited though!

Of course we go to our next door neighbor's house first...

Mini Pumpkin Patch

Instead of going to the big pumpkin patch this year as we have for the past few years, we decided to keep it a little bit low-key. There is a nearby church that has a little pumpkin patch outside so we headed there after dinner tonight. It wasn't crowded, our kids enjoyed it, it was close by and not stressful (as compared to last year's pumpkin trip...). Jackson smiled right when we got there (the first picture below) but after that, he just couldn't be bothered to sit still, look at the camera, smile, etc...too much to see and do!

He always loves for daddy to swing him around though!

He wanted to put them in his mouth...of course.

"Wee Be Littles"...so cute.

Packing up to go home...and everyone was still happy! (Well, Jackson was tired, but still...)

The Fair

We headed out to the North Georgia State Fair this past Saturday morning. It was a very chilly day - especially in the morning...much different from last year when we were sweating in the hot sun. We got there early and had to wait in line for it to open (we were there during the one hour free admission and free rides!). And Jackson was already tired so there aren't too many smiles from him...

Waiting in line...

Rachel riding Dumbo... she took him high in the air this year and wasn't afraid to keep him up there.

Jackson got to ride the carousel - that was about the only thing he could do.

After the free rides were over, we ate some yummy fair food - you can see Rachel's snacks below. I didn't get a shot of Michael's funnel cake though...

Jackson enjoyed his goldfish though.

And this was one of my favorite pictures from the fair last year... my how much he's changed in a year!

Little Updates and a Busted Lip

Okay, where do I start. Rachel is loving Pre-K. She can say the Pledge of Allegiance, knows where several states are on the US map, has been on three field trips already and is writing her letters so much better now! For the past two weeks they've been talking about cowboys and last Friday they could dress up like one. So, here she is as a cowgirl.

And if Rachel is up on the fire place, Jackson wants to be too - so he just climbs right up.

I had a nice birthday earlier this week. We went to dinner Sunday night to avoid the chaos of rushing around after work on Monday.

Jackson is continuing to walk around all the time...he is still not very smooth though - walks very stiff and with his arms in the air... And still falls and still crawls some.

I have no idea what happened in this picture but I thought it was pretty crazy and wanted to share.

And to wrap it up, Jackson got in a fight with the floor yesterday at school and lost... He was kneeling on a chair and another kid ran into him and knocked him over...so he landed face first on the floor. He had a bloody lip, nose and big knot on his forehead... It broke my heart when I saw him for the first time... He bounced back pretty quickly though... The first picture here is about 3-4 hours after it happened, after his bath.

And this was this morning. Doing much better!

And of course that can't be enough for one week... I get a call at 9:00 this morning from his school saying he has a bad upset stomach and has to go home... So he and I have been hanging at home today. So far he's doing alright - I'm praying it stays this way and doesn't get worse - as I know it can!!

We hope to go to the fair this weekend so I should have more pictures soon...
