Last Game of Season

Yesterday was the last game of the season for our girls.  It was the 2nd round of the playoffs for the boys and they ended up losing in a close game...so we're finished for the season.  Rachel loved cheering...the drama not as much some times, but overall had a great time.

Here are some pictures Michael took during yesterday's game.

I think Rachel is done until soccer starts in Feb/March... Jackson starts basketball in a month or so...that will be his first time playing.

Halloween 2016

Halloween has come and gone.  October was another busy month for us and we didn't make it to a pumpkin patch this year.   Some friends had an "old school" Halloween party Sunday night which included bobbing for apples, decorating apples and a graveyard hunt.  The kids enjoyed bobbing for apples - and Jackson even participated (twice!) despite hardly having any teeth up top.

And yes, they are both wearing shorts & t-shirts... it's still in the 80's here and we are all so over it!

They were both excited for trick-or-treating.  Jackson was Woody from Toy Story...

And Rachel was Rey from the new Star Wars movie.  Michael made her costume - found everything at Goodwill.  It turned out great!

We didn't make it to a pumpkin patch but Michael did buy us a couple of pumpkins at the store the day before.  Here is one of them dressed as a mummy.

First stop at Sherry's...

She found her BB-8.  He was cute.

Rachel and friend, Halle.

Rey and Kylo Ren meet...

With her friend, Bella.

Some of Jackson's buddies.

Afterwards with the pumpkin they (a.k.a. Michael) carved.

And going through their candy afterwards.  They get to keep a few pieces each and we give away the rest of it...

One busy month down...next one is coming right up!

Homecoming

This past weekend was homecoming for our high school - which in turn made it homecoming for the younger kids as well.  The high school always has a homecoming parade on Friday night before the game and this year, Rachel got to be in the parade with her cheer squad.  She really enjoyed it.

It was the first really chilly day we've had in a while and it was super windy.

This is Jackson and two of his buddies (also younger siblings of cheerleaders) ready for the
parade to start.

The girls' float.  They were the only group cheering the whole time.

We stayed and went to the high school game that night as well...only through half-time though.  Here is Jackson learning how the game is played.

And Rachel's game was Saturday afternoon.  It was still pretty windy out.

With her poster - all the girls make a poster to help decorate the field at homecoming.

And this is Rachel after the game with several of our neighborhood boys that play on the team she cheers for.  Go Willow Creek!

Now we're in the play-offs.  If they lose they're done.  She's loved it so far this season though!

Fall Break

Last week was fall break for the kids.  We went up to NC for a couple of days at the end of the weekend.  The first day we hung with Nana - went to a park, played on the playground, had a picnic and drove around and looked at the lake.

Nana shared with us a funny talking app and the kids LOVED hearing it.  We all did - so funny.  Got some great laughs that afternoon!

The second day we went to the Lazy 5 Ranch with Grandpa.  The kids loved seeing all of the animals.  Jackson loved feeding them more than Rachel did.  Everyone had a great time!

We took the wagon ride through the ranch and got up close and personal with the animals.

We were told the zebras can be rather aggressive so we weren't allowed to feed them.  Here's one trying to get some food off of our wagon anyways.

The giraffes were one of their favorites.

Here's Rachel's reaction after feeding this character.

This was another of their favorites... A pig giving another pig a "piggy back ride"... it was hilarious.  We sat there for a few minutes with this happening in front of us and all the kids on there were laughing at the piggy-back ride... ha!

It was a good weekend!
