This past weekend we were fortunate enough to take a trip away - by ourselves. We've gone away for a weekend before but never for five days. Michael's parents graciously kept the kids for us and we couldn't have done it without them! We left Saturday morning and thought we'd get there (Panama City Beach, FL) around 3 or 3:30 but that wasn't the case. Everyone else was going at that time too and traffic was ridiculous. So, we went to dinner and that was about all. But really, that's about all we did anyways while we were there. We would get up each day and eat breakfast in our room. We rented a condo on the beach.
Sunday we woke up to some pretty wicked thunderstorms and it stayed that way on and off the rest of the day. We did get out once in the afternoon and it was even still raining at that point. The forecast looked rough for our whole time there but it kept improving each day. Tuesday was the best though. We sat out by the ocean most of the day - under the umbrella - and just read and watched the ocean. It was fun to be able to play in the ocean on our own...and just be able to relax. The only time we left each day was to go out to dinner. So, it was great - relaxing and oh so easy!
The storms moving in - we saw this view a lot!
Floating over the waves.
It was crazy - the people we were sitting beside on the beach (who took this picture for us) were from Woodstock, GA. They were all there for their little league world series baseball...
Finally the pretty skies and ocean without rain clouds.
Our first night out.
My first drink in almost 5 months...Key Lime Freezer - it was delicious!!
Cute turtles...
Pina colada anyone?
Our last night... It was sad to leave but I was missing my babies.
Pictures from their adventures with Grandmama and Granddaddy coming soon.
