Easter and Spring Break

Easter and spring break were a little different for us this year.  Michael and Rachel took a big trip to Washington, D.C. for the first five days and this included Easter.  So Jackson and I got up and went to church and then went to Barbara & Dawson's house in the afternoon.

The day before Easter was the annual egg hunt at our friend's house in the neighborhood.  Jackson always enjoys that.

He was the only younger boy there...

Jackson with his Easter basket and Rachel's - he saved it for her.

 Good smiles!!

Posing after church with the bunny props.

And finding Easter eggs at Grandmama's house.

Rachel loved the sloth shirt she got!

Jackson went to a day camp each day during the break.  They took a field trip to some place fun each day - like skating, rock climbing, trampoline places, etc. which are right up his alley!   Here a couple of pictures from one of his outings.

One night before dinner .

At the end of the break, we went to a Gwinnett Gladiators' hockey game.  It was Star Wars night and we had great seats - front row!  It was so much fun!!

We didn't get to take a picture with Chewbacca...

Doing the YMCA.

Darth Vadar came and stood beside us for a while and then announcer guy did a spot with him on the camera.

Here was the big screen and Jackson's little face smiling at the bottom of it.  Ha!

Overall, it was a very fun evening.

Now we are in the homestretch of the school year.   They have six weeks of school left - which means Rachel has 6 weeks left of elementary school.  We're starting to get information about middle school already... Crazy!

February and Soccer

Now that March is almost over, here are some things we did in February.

Donuts for Dad at school...Rachel's last one!

On this day, Rachel and I went to the movies and finally saw the movie "Wonder".  It was so good - everyone should see it.

The boys went to Monster Jam for the first time.  Jackson really enjoyed it!

Free ice cream for wearing their pajamas...

And this is the new mascot for Michael's mock trial.  Her name is Miss Trial.

And soccer started for Jackson.  He's three games into the season and so far they've won them all.  He's doing a really good job and enjoying it so far.

He was captain this day.

And he loves playing goalie too!

He was tired by this point.

They had nicknames put on their jerseys this year... We tried to get Action Jackson but it wouldn't fit... so hopefully people get it.

January

The first half of January was light on school days.  They weren't supposed to go back until Jan. 8th, then they got a snow day (although it didn't snow)... Then the next week, they only went one day because of ice.  Now their February break has been shortened to 2 days instead of a whole week to help make up some of their days off.

One of the days, they went to the Delta Museum with Barbara & Dawson and enjoyed seeing all of the planes and stuff.

They just happened to be having a pep rally for UGA that day - since UGA was about to play in the National Championship game.  So they really enjoyed that part!

Michael also took them down to the Fan Zone in Atlanta to see what that was about.

Michael lowered the basketball goal outside and the kids have been playing out there (Rachel more so than Jackson).

Basketball season is almost over.  This has been a bit of a challenging season...the team really doesn't know what they are doing and it's been a tad frustrating.  But soccer starts soon and I know he's excited about that.

Climbing trees...

And Rachel got bangs in her hair.

Jackson is all better from his surgery now.  Once we passed the 2 week mark, he was basically fine.  We've all had a little sickness going on but we haven't had the flu and hopefully we won't!
