Friday was Rachel's Awards Day at School. It was in her classroom and all of the parents came - it was very tight in there! But it was good.
It was also the day after Rachel's birthday, so Michael and I stayed at her school after the awards and had lunch with her, read to her class (the ones that were still there), and then celebrated her birthday with them.
I made homemade cake pops to take to her class that day to share with everyone.
Saturday afternoon was her Gymnastics Extravaganza - the end-of-year program to show the parents what all they have learned this year. It was hot and cramped in this gym, with three classes of kids going on at the same time. But despite all of that, I loved seeing Rachel perform her stuff - things she couldn't even have dreamed about last summer. The videos show this more than the pictures, but she can almost do a full cartwheel now and so much more! I was so proud of her!
It was very hard to keep Jackson still in this place (who am I kidding, he doesn't sit still at all!). There were mats and beams and all sorts of things for him to climb on and jump off of. He had a big time too!
Rachel getting her trophy. She enjoyed the classes when she was there but it wasn't something she really looked forward to. And I must say, we're all glad the Tuesday nights at gymnastics are over now. She doesn't want to do that again. So, I think we're done with that.
